Empowering people

There are over 4,500 of us delivering our sustainability agenda.

From pickers and packers to drivers and directors – it takes a lot of dedicated people to get quality produce to our customers and to deliver improvements in sustainability. We believe in empowering our people to make a difference. This related to UN SDGs (12) Responsible consumption and production, (3) Good health and well-being, (5) Gender equality, and (8) Decent work and economic growth.

With such a huge, diverse team spread all over the country we have several processes in place to ensure the engagement, wellbeing and continual development of our people – and to continually improve our environmental

In particular, we have over 90 voluntary sustainability coordinators – all of them with a passion for sustainability. As well as their job roles, they are responsible for coordinating site community engagement activity and working with a wide range of local organisations and charity groups. They attend regional workshops twice a year to ensure they are up to date and can be the best ambassadors possible for our sustainability strategy.
