Driving forward with what matters to us As a company committed to reducing our environmental impact, we continually seek to utilise the changes in vehicle engine technology that have been brought about by progressively stricter European Emission Standards. Mark Snowdon tells us more about the Bidfood trucks:

With the delivery of new fleets to our Manchester, Gateshead and Wakefield depots in 2013, we’re already well on the way to phasing out all of our vehicles that achieve less than Euro 4 emissions standard.

We’ve also altered the internal configuration of our trucks, to carry more products and, therefore, reduce food miles. Our trucks have innovative vehicle bodies and we utilise the Gray and Adams Partition System (GAAPS) to achieve exceptionally high levels of vehicle fill.

It doesn’t stop at our own fleet… by April 2014, the number of road miles saved via Paddock Wood Depot’s Car Sharing Scheme had reached just over one million!
